John Callister is committed to protecting our local lifestyle, promoting responsible development, and putting residents first. As your next councillor, John will work tirelessly to ensure that community voices are heard and decisions are made transparently.
John believes in a community-driven approach, where local needs come before other interests. He’s passionate about maintaining the unique character of Foothills County while advocating for sustainable growth and safe infrastructure.fostering long-term relationships with our residents.
I have lived in Foothills County my entire life. This is where I was raised, where I raised my own children, and where my grandkids are now growing up. I know the land, the roads, and the people, because this has always been home. That connection to the community shapes how I see every issue, through the eyes of the residents who live here and call this place theirs.
I am running to represent Division 6 because I believe residents must always come first. Too often, decisions at council have put developers or outside interests ahead of the people who live here. Growth will happen, but it must be managed in a way that respects our rural way of life and does not compromise safety, affordability, or the character of our community.
That means demanding proper infrastructure before projects are approved. It means fair and predictable taxes, with every dollar spent on core services first. It means making sure new developments pay their own way instead of leaving residents to carry the cost. And it means open communication and transparency from council so residents always know what is being decided and why.
I believe accountability is not optional, it is the job. Council should publish clear budgets, explain decisions in plain language, and take responsibility for the impacts those decisions have. Residents should not have to fight for basic information about how their money is being used or how growth is being managed.
I am not running to make promises that cannot be kept. I am running to listen, to work hard, and to ensure that residents’ voices are heard and respected. My goal is simple: to protect what makes Foothills County special while planning responsibly for the future.
